Hi Bryn,
I actually went through a whole legal process regarding this back in 1999,
and yes as far as Australian Copyright is concerned CF is in fact a
programming language. My point has been that it really doesn't matter what
labels you give it, it gets the job done amazingly well, and in ultra

more helpful. I don't think CF has the capability in the current release to

Exactly, if the client wants to think of CF as an application server, and
that is how they view it, then that is what it is. That is why Adobe have
CF sitting in the Application layer of their RIA stack. :)

If it's not an application server then what would you call something that
runs the following:
A custom built Corporate content management system which supplies content to
23 internet/intranet/extranet's for a single Federal Government Department
all running on a Mach-ii shared code base sitting on

Hi AJ,
You can set minOccurs and maxOccurs, but I don't think you can do
conditional stuff. You would be doing the conditional stuff in your XDP.

You really need to add LiveCycle ES to that, contact me for Syd & Vic
contacts to help you with groups, I can get you LiveCycle people. My head
hurts because of an EOI I am responding to that pretty much calls for
Flash/Flex/AIR/CF/LiveCycle ES, for an SOA implementation.
All people in the above

Hi Chris,
No, I did not assume that LiveCycle Designer was used to create the PDF.
However, I do believe that the only way to embed the javascript correctly
into a dynamic PDF is to save it as an XDP first then save the XDP as a
dynamic PDF. I could be wrong, but I do recall somebody aying somet
Hi Claude,
Unless you have the ability to generate JavaScript on an 'event' whist
compiling the PDF, then I don't believe it's possible.
I've been working with Adobe LiveCycle now for around 3 years. The dynamic
pdf's created with Adobe LiveCycle Designer are controlled mostly, with

:) You're a smart cookie Barry, yep that's the idea, because in all reality
the entire Adobe Enterprise Suite should be targeted at Fed Gov. There's a

And the push out of AGIMO is the LiveCycle Enterprise Suite ES, they just

Hi Kai,
In Canberra the market is slightly more boyant, particularly for someone
like me with 11 years experience in CF and a reputation that generates
business.
My last job was a 90k package, and my current one is well over 100k with all
the lurks and perks as well.
Having said that, my experie
Hi Claude,
I don't believe you can do this without having the forms Reader Extended.
Cheers,
