Title: Re: [Chevelle-List] LED Taillights for '67 & '70 Chevelles
Brad,
These LED arrays are brighter
than the 1157 bulbs! Also the light source is spread out andthe
light fills your lens better.
As for the price, remember that
the LEDs will last for the life of your car. If they

Brad,
I put a set of these in my 67 Chevelle a few months ago as
a ~test~ subject for these guys. You have to remove the tail lamp housing
toremove the bezel and finally the lens. The LEDs mount to the
outside (not though a
Yeah, you're
right about the cowl. Besides, the manifold was not what I thought it was -
turned out to be a "log ram". Different animal altogether.
I'll test the
cowl a little more scientifically this weekend but here's what it does: When the
engine is off the door is open. As soon as you

The question in

The LEDs is a nice idea. It would be nice if they can be designed to just
swap in for the bulb with no modifications. I was thinking of mounting a
temporary LED stop light in my rear window that can be removed easily. I
worry about some nut ramming me from behind while talking on the're cell
Can
you come up with a set for the 68 year model. It has the smallest lights of all.
I'll get a set if you do. Do I need to send you a lens and case from my
car?

I have upgraded my cooling system witha new aluminum radiator, water pump, fan clutch and shroud. Has gone from 230 plus at idle to a steady 210 with 180 degrees on the road.
I want to add a Spal Pusher fan. My question is which one ?
Do I go with the Spal 16 inch pushing 1920 CFM with 17.4 amps,
My system has a
four core copper rad with 7 blade fan. 180 all the time.

I did pay for them and I'd probably buy another set.
I'll check my 67 Elky when I get back Sunday from the MAD/WACO show/drags at
Arkansas City and see if they'd fit that at well. May get another set for
it too.

I don't think a direct replacement is possible due to the size of the single
bulb compared to the size required for an LED array. Third brake lights are
available in LED as well as regular lamp form that will fit on the package
tray. A plug in connecter (like a trailer hitch) would make it
Son 14 just got his first car, a 67 4 dr. Chevelle. I am
gathering information for the interior. Would like to keep it original as
it has 63,000 or so miles on it. We need some places to inquire about
restoring the seats. Thanks.

Oh yeah. Clutch
fan. It'll sit in traffic without trouble. On a super hot day it'll creep up to
190 if I leave it idling with the AC on - like in a bumpertobumper traffic jam.
I've been real pleased with it. Only complaint is no overflow can so I bought a
nifty chrome billet alum one from

I just did the
interior in my 66. I bought the whole thing from Lutty's Chevy warehouse since
they are only about 25 minutesfrom where I live. Their line was PUI and I
an very satisfied with it. Some of the places to look would be Year One, Lutty's
Chevy Warehouse, Ground Up, Ausleys.
Wayne,
Thanks for the info. Yes patient's is the key word when
you are working with the interior. I redid a 72 Beetle for my daughter,
she wanted instant results but I took my time. You couldn't tell it was
not original when it was done, buttons and all. Thanks again

I appreciate the answers below. However, I removed the flex fan and put in a clutch fan and new aluminum radiator, and new high performance water pump. Yes, the fan is properly within shroud area. Guess my question was not understood.
I was having a problem previously with the car going from 180

would not use pusher fan it will restrict flow. I tried it. sounds like you have

I know
this is not what you wanted to here. But the flex fan will make up the

I would stay away from a flex fan ever again. I originally had one on my 70
when I first got it on the road and it never went under 220 when driving and
would shoot up to 230-240 at an idle. I put a clutch fan on and an aluminum
water pump, now it runs on the highway at 205 with a 195 stat
I think pump helped more than fan, but everyone has there on combo and
opinion. I you have a part failure it can be flex or clutch same principle
of connection to main body. I'm sure either is ugly. Lot more rotating mass
with the steel fan.

I bought a Spectre Dress up kit for my 64 Elky and
it is giving me fits. I have it on one heater hose and it looks fair. I also
have one on the top radiator hose and it looks like crap. Does anyone have any

Brad,
Another idea would be to add relays to the tail/brake light
wiring just like they do for the headlights which will increase voltage at the
bulb resulting in brighter lights... The light relays are on my "to do"
list.

Everytime I've seen these hose covers, they just

likely just a cheese product.

Vernon,
I have these on my 68 although I don't
