I have an original '66 327 block with its original
forged crank for sale. I do not have the original
heads for it. The block is bored .060 over, and there
are no letters/numbers on the front pad. I am located
in MD. I bought it for my '66 Chevelle and ended up
not using it.
Block has been hot
I am restoring a 71 Malibu. Ther Rear of the body is rusted and there are a few large holes too. I was thinking of sandblasting the rust off of it and using sheet metal to cover the holes. Or, I could just look for another body. Finding one that is not rusty may be difficult. Would anyone happen
Jason,
There are a number of places that sell patch panels for your car that
would be much easier than molding your own metal. Check with John Nasta
(he's on the list). He can set you up.

Helo all, I have a 71 Malibu that i am restoring ground up (hopefully). i have the soft ware that identifies engine codes. Unfortunately, the stampers stamped the stamp too far to the right , and a few of the letters did not make it on to the engine block. I do know the code starts with a "d". And
The engine block code
numbers are on the back of the block left of the crank. But you have to have the
engine out to see them. Also, you may be able to identify it by the head casting
number. It's under the valve cover. Trying to identify an engine from the pad on
the block is not always

The fan I bought comes with plastic mounting ties
that go through the core...
in your experiences, are these safe to use on an

I'm afraid that the torque and wibration will cause
them to eat through the tubes...
any other mounting options??
Thank you.

John,
You may want to call Dick at True Connections. He should be able to help you with that. The number is (909)688-6040. Tell him James from Signature Clock Gauge sent you.

I had a fan on my Nova.
It also was installed with ties. That was 6 years ago. It's still on with no
problems for the new owner. Is it a pusher or puller? If it's a puller, ( inside
the engine compartment) you can try and mount it like they do on the current
cars. Heck, check the junk yards

Bill, If I remember, the temp gage must be isolated from the cluster. So you
should be sure it's also isolated inside the gage cluster. The washers go
next to the housing. Mine had washers both inside and outside.

Is anyone using TPI-Tech gauges? I seen an ad in a magazine for them that

that's the way I am going to go to replace the factory speedo and gauge.

My 69 El Camino has the stock sending unit in the tank now. Is the
resistance range on it from 0-90 ohms? Does Autometer offer a replacement
tank sending unit with the same range and fit? I'm having a custom 23gal

template so

Yes 0-90 is correct. Don't know if AutoMeter offers one, but you can buy a new one at any Chevy dealer. They still keep them in stock. Let me know if you need
Apparently when I installed the gauge back into the housing I reversed the
spade connectors on the back. This caused the hot ground wires to be
