I think there's a difference in classification between 'original' and
'original restored'. Original is an unmolested car with only consumables
replaced - belts, oils, filters, tires and even starters, alternators
water pumps. Those parts do tend to wear out and need replacement. Whether

The heads are the ones with the Tee Pee shape on the
end. Are they 9:25 comp ratio? They came on the original

If they're 283 heads I suspect they probably have 62-64cc chambers and small
Just to let you guys know I finally found the miss at
WOT. I replaced plugs, points, condenser, rotor and cap and still no
success. Then I repalaced the coil and the miss is gone. Put the
original Quadrajet back on, set the timing by ear and now she runs great -- no
miss , no ping.
Cool, interesting fix. Just curious, was the coil original factory, quality replacement, or aftermarket replacement?

The coil I replaced was the original. I replaced it
with an aftermarket coil from Auto Zone.

It would depend on the yoke as far as the price goes. I would highly
recommend Summit. Not sure of thier international shipping rates, but I'm
sure they would ship to you. I have used Summit myself for around 20 years
now and have yet to have a problem with anything I've ordered. I got a used

I drove the car to work today and it really runs great. I'm definitely a

I am a real fan of a product called Sea Foam. It's
a fluid that sells for about $6 a can and works wonders with stuck valves,
gummed up carbs, etc. Fill the carb and let her set overnite; should clean it

Yep, it has run near perfect so far. Engine Temp never went over 190.
I had one minor issue tonight where it didn't want to idle without a slight
bit of throttle. I believe it's a problem of the IAT (Inlet Air Temp)
sensor getting heat-soaking since it is mounted in the plenum, the computer
I was lucky enough to meet up with John and his "Tribute " last year @
Chevelleabration. Almost the first thing out of his mouth was that his car is a
clone aka Tribute. His Tribute is one nice ride and I for one could care less if
it isn't the real thing. I hope to meet up with John again
Thanks!
Can someone help me with the GM parts no for
a transmission slip yoke in the small GM sizing
