Larry Clint,
We landed in Miami, and picked up the super special rental car, an amazing
corolla with four doors :O), then we worked our way over to naples and did
the coast up to tampa and then to Orlando, then to Daytona (I love that
place) and back to Orlando and down to miami again and two

Hi all.
New to the list.
My son has a 70 Chevelle and we want to convert it from a TH350 to a good 5
or 6 speed manual with overdrive so we can go to some decent gears like 373's in
the rear. Any suggestions. Are their any kits out there available
that include all the parts like bellhousing,
GM doesn't build a five speed automatic transmission yet and neither does

Bob,if you think you're going to end up with
over $1K in that 10 bolt rear,I would reconsider the idea of rebuilding it. For
that kind of money, you can find a 66-67 12 bolt and build it to suit your
needs.

Here are a couple of links that might help you out,Mac. I
really like my DD Perf Viper T56 but if I were building my car again

Hello Everyone,
Just got my first paint chip on the door. Yes someone at work
or some place hit a classic car. So now I ask for your help.
I have a '64 El Camino, that the previous owner says has a Candy
Apple Red paint job. He gave me a spray can for touch up paint, but
is not right
You sure the pinion gear has 11 teeth? Or 10?
What's the ring gear diameter?

If it's a true kandy paint job, you'll never match it.
If it's a solid color, take it to a local paint supply store, and they can
use their machine to match the color.
good luck!

Hey Tim, whats up!
Anyway, as far as the crossmember
smacking... well, it does sometimes. If the person isn't very good at
timing the switch, the car will smack the ground. A person with good
timing will hit it up while the car is about 1/2 way through the down travel,
which will prevent
Dan,
Well the whole lowrider thing is
not my cup of tea personally. I just really dont care for the small rims and
this and that. I dont like hydraulics, but I do like airbags. My 66 Chevelle is
airbagged. I guess its kind of done hot rod style or whatever because mine are
real slow. I
ya, the "certain crowd" thing gets mentioned
as well.
it's funny, because real lowriders
aren't thetroublemakers that the media portrays, you're more likely
to see them guys in the mini truck/ import section. hell, most of us work
full time jobs to support our habit, just like rodders,
oh well, a closed mind only hurts the person who has it...

Thanks to all for your input. I still don't know what I will do, but
I'm going to begin by checking out other settings which might affect
performance, like timing.
