Dennis,
I agree with Trooper. My Muncie shifter was a pain to install, a pain to
shift, and a pain to yank out. Just buy a handle and use a good Hurst
Competition Plus shifter. The Muncie shifts like a wet noodle and is prone to
binding.especially if there is a hot chick in the nearby
Thanks Mike,
Is a scatter shield the same as a SFI bellhousing or is it an additional piece
of metal that is welded on top of the bellhousing?
Also, What do you mean by Dialing it in? I would hope the garage doing the

Cool Thanks,
I tried calling the company for a price quote Monday but only got their
answering machine. I'm anxious to try them on my GTO because it should be an
easy bolt-on job. If things go OK, I will eventually get 3 Y-pipes for the
Chevelle and install cut outs on it. Thanks for the
Happy Independence Day!
I was driving hame from work in the Chevelle a few months ago and noticed I
didn't have any oil pressure. I checked the gauges, dipstick, etc. I noticed
that my billet distributor was raised about 1/4 from the intake and figured
that it just wasn't spinning the oil
Hello,
Any of you guys running one of those nifty exhaust bypasses on your cars.
I'm thinking about putting electric ones on the car but I'm a little afraid to
spend sooo much money to GET an exhaust leak (if you know what I mean).

Here are links to both of their web sites. Both have videos.

I'm sure this has been covered a thousand times so the first question would be
how to look up the archived threads.
I'm trying to get tires for my 67 GTO (with later model 15 pontiac 5-spoke
wheels) and was wondering is 255/60/R15's would fit all the way around. I
figured that the room would
Hi Pelle,
The band was Paul Revere the Raiders and the song was called Judge GTO
Breakaway.
It is also interesting to note that they were contracted a few years earlier by
GM to make a song to advertise the introduction of the 66 Chevelle. It was
called SS 396. SS 396 and a flip-side song

I have a 67 GTO. It didn't come with a 12-bolt. I always thought it was a
10-bolt (open)but maybe it is not. How do you identify an BOP 8.2?
I have installed a chevy 12 bolt posi in it tho since I assumed it was a
10-bolt, so I guess it's too late to matter.

Does anybody out there have a 70-72 that is using the Cowl Induction air
cleaner with an aftermarket intake? If so, did you have to make any mods to
make it fit? What Carb / intake are you using? I've been told that a Holley
is shorter than the AFB style carb. Is that correct?
Thanks in
I was wondering if anyone knew if you can still use your cowl induction air
cleaner if you use an Edelbrock dual-plane intake manifold (performer RPM) with
a Holley carb instead of the factory single-plane one? Will there be enough
clearance? If not, what if I did not re-use the factory

I currently have an Edelbrock Dual Plane Performer RPM manifold on my 454 with
a AFB style car. My car is a 70 Chevelle and I would like to make it look more
original without loosing too much performance (actually I want to go faster if
possible). I have the original Cowl Induction air

Definitely replace as much as you can while it is all apart. You will agree

Hello,
I was trying out Dyno 2000 on my computer and was trying to figure out my
engine specs. I'm having trouble figuring out what I need to put in the
various boxes. The cylinder head section shouldn't be too hard to figure out.
I'm running an Edelbrock Performer dual plane manifold
Congrats! Start him off on the right foot.

Hey ya'll,
I checked on the status of the Pentagon Flag auction on Ebay to see how smooth
the purchase of a $371,300.00 can be. I guess I'm not shocked to see that the

Sorry it is not a Chevelle specific
I just bought a used movie from Blockbuster called Surviving Christmas
(mostly to watch Christina Applegate). I was surprised to find that her dad
purchases a beautiful red 70 SS Chevelle. I think there were 454 markings on
the fender, it had black stripes, cowl induction, and red interior.
Great question. I have been pondering the same question. My problem is that I
have a gauge kit (that came in the trunk of the car when I baught it)but I
don't know if it works. My dilema is whether to install the untested gauge kit
and switch wiring harnesses or just get the idiot light to
I purchased Speed Demon without actually watching the movie. I wouldn't
recommend that. It is the most cheesy bizzare movie I ever saw...and you don't
get to see much of the car. I believe they did that on purpose because it had
a 70 front clip, a 71-72 rear bumper, SS markings (with a
I believe the F in the VIN means it was built at the Flint Michigan facility.

Its been a long time since I did any wiring on my car, but I think I had the
same problem or something similar to your problem due to a voltage drop (About
8 volts -vs- 12+). I believe it was caused by a factory resistor that reduces
your ignition voltage down for stock applications. I was
Thanks Everyone, I will get him a membership. He wants to drive the Chevelle
but he is a little large and can't maneuver into the car while it is on the
trailer. He got a 5 ton winch, but hasn't had the time/money to get it
installed yet. I might pay for that too. It's kind of strange
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me if $40.00 is a good price for an ACES
membership for my dad. He just picked up his restored 66 Chevelle SS (He
bought it new and spent a fortune getting it fixed- but it has been his dream
for the past 20 years).
I thought it might be a nice
I can drive my Chevelle to our municipal airport and get gas at the Chevron
beside the runway. It is a low lead gas that floats between 105 and 112
octaneand it is $2.70 a gallon. I guess that is not bad since 87 octane at
the gas stations cost $1.97 around here (Central Arizona).
BTW, I
Why don't you sell your Chevelle to someone else, buy some import gas/electric hybrid

I, for one, would love to talk about our Chevelles.

Andre,
Good luck on your project! Let us know how that T-56 feels and how easy/difficult it
is to install. Are you going to shorten your driveshaft or pick up a new one?

Well this is related to our hobby. I know many people think that Bush is in the

a fact that can be verified through congressional records. John Kerry has voted to
raise taxes on gas 11 times. This includes
Hello everyone,
I haven't contributed to the list for a while because my wife and I are getting ready

Hey everyone, Its been a while since I wrote to the list. I would like to get a
