I have another problem. OK, I recently replaced my timing chain and the big/top sprocket. It was the actual sprocket that was messed up. The teeth were all eaten away. Now I try to start my Chevelle and it will start, but it coughs something fierce with gas spurting on the carb at e

best thing to do is pull a seat and measure it. Then go out to a wrecking yard or two and find something you like. I doubt if you find anything late model that will be a direct bolt in.

I just finished putting my exhaust manifolds back on
my 66, I had to take the bolt out of the motor mount
on the drivers side and take my floor jack with a
small piece of 2x4 and raise the engine up on the
drivers side a little bit, I also had to do that to
get drivers side off.

My mistake, I guess it was that Granada Gold instead. I was more concerned with the
drivetrain anyway, I just told the body shop to put the same color on it and he told
me about the Aztec name.

Larry, there are nuts welded into the floors that the seat belt bolts attach to. The inside holes are near the middle of the trans. tunnel, and the front ones are about 3/4 of the way back along the sill plate, about 1" in. hope it helps.

JJ is right, but let me add a few details.
Jack up the car from under the differential w/ a hydraulic floor jack. Put
jack stands under the frame. Lower the car until the weight is primarily on
the stands, but the floor jack is still supporting the rear. Disconnect the
lower rear shock mounts. Sl
Rear is easy. Jack the car up by the frame or jack it up under the diff and put
jackstands under the frame. Let the rear hang. Shouldn't be much force left in the
springs. Can probably squeeze it enough with your hands or pry at it with a tire iron
or something. If all alse fails, removing

car and let the rear drop back down some. You should be able to reseat the

So, I am looking at 2 cars. One is a 71 SS convert. 350 with air. The other is a 454, no air. How hard is it to add air to a car? Does it lessen the value, since it wouldn't be original? I think that I would paint the 350, not crazy about the color. Am I really screwing up not getting the 454?
