I just replaced all the bushings in my 67 chevelle and I used the red
poly. I suggest you use grafite on the portion of the bushing that
contacts the frame, they ten to squeak a little but they look great

The reason I asked is this subject was just covered on the List a few weeks

I tend to agree with Herb Adams and GW about not
using poly bushings in the rear. Though expensive, the Del-a-lum bushings are the
way to go. Another route is to replace the stock bushings with new rubber ones.
It's not like they won't last a long time.

Hi Galen,
I agree with Herb Adams and Global West. In fact, I my entire suspension
system is GW. According to GW, if you use their rear lower arms with the
spherical joint/del-a-lum bushing, you should use the stock upper arm with
rubber bushings. That's how my rear suspension is setup along
I'm not trying to be argumentative, but I have polygraphite bushings in the front and
it doesn't seem to ride too hard to me, and it only squeaks in very cold weather
(freezing) and even then not too bad. I think it boils down to a matter of personal
preference. It does handle pretty nice for a

Dwight,
I put
the PST polygraphite full front and rear kit on my 71. I took them apart
and lubed them up good with whitelithium grease before installation.
I dont think the suspension bushings squeak, but there is one squeak in my
car... I think it is in the dash but I have not found it
Personally
I dont recommend polyurethane bushings unless you are racing or doing some
other hard driving that warrants them. Not only can they squeak, they also make
the ride very stiff. If you are just driving the car on the street normally, I personally
think you would be better off with
I used the Energy Suspension kit on my 70 and it has never squeaked.

I used PST's Super kit w/polygraphite bushings in
the front of my 68 El Camino. In five years,I never heard a squeak and they
really took the slop out of the front end. Don't use them in the rear as they
tend to bind things up on a street car.
My 69 El Camino will have Del a Lum bushings in
I suppose you
could go with poly sway bar bushings for stiffer handling and rubber body
mounts so that the ride itself is not so stiff. Might be a good combo for a
street car.

Dwight,
I have the PST Polygraphite bushings at each pivot point on my 76
Vette. It handles nice, doesn't ride harsh (in my opinion), but it does
squeak, which makes it sound like an old car that needs some work.
My Elky on the other hand, has Global West Del-a-lum bushings at each pivot

I installed them.

Dwight,
I put polygraphite bushings on my Chevelle while I still lived in
Pennsylvania. The front sway bar bushings didn't fit right (too big) and
yes, everything squeaksNext time, I'm just going to put the stock ones back
on. After all, they worked fine for 20+ years.
