This group definately needs a moderator, several of them in fact. It
is one of the nastiest groups I have ever seen. It has some great
information from time to time, but some really ugly mouths too.

Yes you did! Especially the onion and garlic when small dogs are
concerned. It can cause anemia in large doses which may not need to
be very large in a small dog like a Chi. I would not use this recipe!

Back when everyone was first suggesting getting a moderator, Bill was the
first person to come to my mind. He knows how to keep the focus on the little
chi and he is great at arbitrating problems. I strongly recommend everyone go to
the poll and vote yes for Bill!

hi,
I have just transitioned to the raw diet, and so far so good. My main
reason for switching was that I have a dog with diabetes and I have
been told that this type of diet is preferred.
the only thing I have noticed at this point in te negative is the
breath. I can only assume that with time

I have also read that garlic and onions were bad for dogs, I seem to
recall that they come from the same family of plants, and there are
others in this same family that can be bad for dogs, especially small
ones.
Salt, although I am not sure about can't be good for anyone in quantity.

I did a little research. You are correct about onions and garlic. This is what I found. Onion and garlic poisoning Onions and garlic are other dangerous food ingredients that cause sickness in dogs, cats and also livestock. Onions and garlic contain the toxic ingredient thiosulphat

To tell you the truth, I am not sold on it. I want to give it a fair
chance as I have been told by several sources that it is really good
for the diabetes, but I wonder if the raw is good, perhaps a cooked
meat diet, also low in carbs would be good I am not surprised that
