In a case like that you're only doing the vet a favour. If you go to his/her
colleagues it would not make any difference but anyways that's your opinion
and I respect it. In my case, I'd sue.

I agree, Mandy. I'd like to see the doctor acknowledge the mistake, sure. But
this country is lawsuit crazy and its gotten ridiculous. People are greedy and
sue over anything. Not that this is frivilous, but humans sometimes make
mistakes, it happens.

What happens when you owe money to the vet.? They collect it through court,
first a plaintif and then they sue you! I'd not do the vet any favours, I'd
treat him as he/she would if that was me. They charge lots of money for their
procedures so I would not tolerate any mistakes with my babies.
All true, however it takes a lot of time and money to start a lawsuit that
could drag on for years and to what end? To bog down the courts even more
and cause the person suing more anguish? There are faster and better options
here and IMO that should be the first recourse before a law suit. I am
Suing may not be the answer and won't bring the missing little dew claw back
or undo the damage but I would want everynoe else boing to this vet to know.
THIS WAS INCOMPETENCE! particularly since its not standard procedure to remove
a front claw this late if it had no trouble. Its a huge
Oh geez, it's not like the vet amputated the wrong leg or the dog died. He
made a mistake, yes. He should appologize and maybe make it up in some way
(discount, refund perhaps). Sued? No! I would be very upset too, believe
me... I'd probably never go back again either. Suing isn't the answer
Yeah, the whole thing is kind of bizarre, and I
sure would be looking for a new vet and be telling
everyone within earshot about what happened. But I
wouldn't be looking for a lawyer though reporting
to whatever agency polices veterinarians might not
be a bad idea.
