CHODOSH BULLETIN 12 AUG 14
The latest report from the US Dep't of Agriculture confirms that the
harvest and spring wheat and barley have begun. That is allowing us to
formulate the recommended Chodosh cutoff dates for the forthcoming season.
These are given below. Note that dates given below for
s due (bli neder) next week.

I received the weekly harvest report from the US Dep't of Agriculture
yesterday, Jul 28. Based on that report, the following are the latest
tentative Chodosh starting dates
Oats other than cereals packing date of Aug 5, purchase date Aug 19

*START OF THE CHODOSH SEASON*
According to this week’s report from the US Department of Agriculture, the
delayed start of the harvest of the Chodosh crops is finally in full swing.

The first traces of the start of the Chodosh oats harvest have been issued
by the US Dep't of Agriculture. My early estimate is that the oats could be
a problem of Chodosh as early as the packing date of Jul 26, wheat as early
as Aug 9 (these were the dates last year). When final dates are determi
utoff dates would be about 7-10 days after the confirmed start of the
first harvests. When more information becomes available, I hope to, bli
neder, issue and other update.

The US Department of Agriculture ( USDA) releases their weekly report on
crop progress on Monday of e

The Guide to Chodosh has a detailed discussion of the problem of malt that
may be Chodosh. In there it was suggested that lacking dating code
information, one can assume that malt in items PURCHASED up to March 15
should still be Yoshon. However,
