I read in an article that Michael Muuss has died in a car accident.
He is the person who gave us a tool called "PING" to make our lives easier
when troubleshooting our networks.
May his soul rest in peace.

I am planning to take the MCNS test in the coming month.
I have the Beachfront ( www.bfq.com) for MCNS.
I would like to purchase a second test/drill

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I have a discussion here with my boss regarding the effect of CIR on the
routing metric.
He says CIR has nothing to do with the routing metric and I think It is
impossible that routing metric is no affected by CIR. Non of us can prove the

If you really want to learn and not just pass the test, Boson is made for you.
It is not made like an exam cram that makes you just memorize the answers

Couple of yers ago we implemented Cisco's DHCP in our network. (10 VLAN, 800
nodes). Unfortunately, it did not work out and we had constant problems. We
switched to Windows DHCP and we are happy.
Whether Cisco has improved its implementation of DHCP during the last couple
of years, I can't tell.

is my calculation of 172.29.0.0/19 correct?

Recently I was reading an article that Novell's Link Servrice Protocol (NLSP )

When setting up reverse telnet, it is good to match the connection with the
router number:
1 for r1
2 for r2
6 for r6
What is the trick to have connection 6 to go to r6 even if there is no r5?
Tks.
