John,
It looks like you need the "monitor session" command on this box. Check
this out in the command reference.

to set the interface to
the routed-interface status and to erase all Layer 2 configurations. You
must use this command before assigning an IP address to a routed port.

Some comments in-line. It is becoming (has become?) very difficult if not
impossible to tease out the "switch" from the "router" with PFC2/MSFC2.
This box has the functions of both, and they are integrated in the hardware.
For example, the Layer 2 switching engine, the Qos engine and the ACL

Speed and Duplex are tied at the hip - if speed is auto, duplex must be

I would like to buy a flash PC card for my Cat 6000 with Sup1A. I know
there are different file system formats for various devices, but do the 3600
and 6000 cards have the same physical spec? Can I use the same card in both
devices if I reformat?
Thanks,

Andy,
Here is a link regarding this module and dropping packets with an INTEL Pro
gig card. Relates to even, odd packet sizes. Fix is NIC driver update:

The 3550 models are L2 switches by default.

Dan,
This sounds like a good job for an EXPECT script. Easy to learn and use.
There is a good web page at expect.nist.gov if you want to take a look at
it. There is also a good O'Reilly book.

Nuts,
I am no MAC/SNA filter expert, but I am pretty darn sure that your solution
is correct. There is a lot of contradictory info on CCO. I think the link
below is the best of them:

Steven,
I recently took the BSCI exam to satisfy a Partner R&S Specialization
requirement. It is very doable. Best study source to my mind is Jeff
Doyle's book: Routing TCP/IP Volumes 1 and 2. Boson is good for practice
exams.
Just my 2 cents,

The IPX commands should be there, even if ipx routing is not enabled.
However, you may have an IP only feature set. I think you will need at
least "desktop" to get IPX.

I have an Ethereal capture of traffic from such a port showing the native

Pedro,
If you issue show snmp it should indicate snmp packets received and sent.
Is the router receiving? The same show command will also show snmp errors.
Can you issue the show snmp command and share the results?
