Hi,
I was wondering...for the CCNP tests, how long do I have inbetween each
of the 4 tests to take them all before they expire? Or, how long do I have
to take all 4 of them before the ones i've taken and passed are null and
void? I took the CCNP Routing June of 2002 and passed it, and I'm
Do Cisco routers perform MAC Address/layer 2 filtering with their access
lists? or only ip filtering? Thanks :-)

I was wondering how long I have between each CCNP test. I heard 2 years,
but does that mean I have two years for example, between the routing and
switching, then when I take the switching, I have another 2 years between
either the remote access or support? or is it 2 years to get them all?
said I wanted to go into security. So please if anyone has this
certification e-mail me at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Sunil,
Yes that would be great if you could do that in your lab. I'd appreciate
it. The reason I used extended access list is because I want to queue
traffic for the destination 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.1, not the source
address. And extended uses destination addresses as part of the
Cody,
How come on 2test.com it still only offers the 500 series tests instead
of the 600 series now? I believe that is quite strange don't you? =)

of those will work, but it is worth a shot. It will
not actually disable the physical port, but if it works, it would deny
anyone attempting to login to it.

Congrats Cody.
I just took my CCNP Routing exam today, and it was pretty tricky. It was
640-503 however. I was wondering, how did you sign up for the 640-603? On
2test.com there was no option for the new exam. On my cisco career tracker
it has that option of having passed 503 or 603 to get
Craig,
You are absolutely correct, and I was well aware of each of the important
concepts and points you made. I was simply saying a random address to use
for my example, but thanks =)

Hello Everyone,
I have a newbie question to ask. If, for example, I had a building in
one location (for say, the state of maryland) and then another building in
another location (for say, the state of virginia), would I be able to have
the locations directly connect to each other via phone
Thanks Craig. Yes I know 128.128.0.0 is not technically a standard private
address defined in RFC 1918, but those are just so that ISPs have a standard
address in which to block routing information for. Therefore a private
address within a network can be any class A B or C address. Thanks for
What about the Sybex version, do you think that has enough information to
pass the exam by itself? I'm just curious cuz i only have 3 weeks and 5
days before exam time and I don't have much time to study between then, so I
wanna know what resource i should use hehe. Thanks

Hi,
I am taking my first CCNP exam (640-503) on June 7th. Is there any
pointers that someone could give me? Also, retaining to my subject title,
if anyone has read the CCNP Routing Exam Study Guide published by Cisco
Press (written by Clare Gough), can you tell me if it contained enough
