If you really want to understand token ring look at this site:
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/cisintwk/ito_doc/tokenrng.htm
Read the bridging section of the Caslow book as well as the bridging section
of the Lammle CCIE book. Between those 3 items I finally got it down.
Caslow
-motion video to those desktops.

If you really want to understand token ring look
elegant design features. But the market no longer accepts
it and it is too expensive. Reminiscent, vaguely, of Beta versus
VHS).

currently i am setting up a Cisco lab at home for CCIE preparation.. I like
to know whether is token ring is tested hard in the Lab exam?? it is in
the CCIE blueprint but nowadays i seldom see companies using token ring
networks.. like to make sure so that i don't buy the wrong
PC's and run Netbeui over them.
Make sure you have a 2513 or two (preferably) in your lab.

Know the Catalyst 3920. That will be your Token Ring attachment to your
router. MAUs are gone. Since it's a single switch you'll need to know how to
configure different VLANs for the different ring numbers you'll have to bring
up.
