CiscoWorks 2000 is slow. We used CiscoWorks RWAN on a Compaq DL380 (733Mhz
processor, RAID5, 768 MB RAM) for a client. We did NOT use MS SQL, just used
the Microsoft jet database for indexing.

and 3500XL. However the campus manager is displaying all the Cisco devices in
the unconnected devices view only and in Resource manager essentials as
generic SNMP devices . does anyone have any ideas

passwords stored ? Is there an option in CiscoWorks2000 where you can fill
in the default passwords, similar to the default SNMP community strings ?

Yes that URL is exactly what I sent to a customer many months ago when
they had the same problem. SNMP would request the whole routing table,
they are receiving the whole Internet routing table, which caused their
7200 CPU utilization to max out. There should be no reason the grab

I had this problem several weeks ago. I removed MIB ciscoEntityAssetMIB
from CiscoWorks. Check out CSCdu55091 on CCO.
Or you can configure the following on your routers:

Yes it took care of the issue for this customer, my guess would be
that SNMP is grabbing some large table it doesn't need.
