It's a known bug. I'd be willing to bet that you are using a Dell laptop as well. The workaround is to just wait untill hyperterminal has fully loaded, before you plug into the switch. It just seems to happen with the smaller switches. It won't affect my routers, or cat5500s or 6500s. Of co
