Hi,
I have a 3016B and am planning to buy a Cisco Catalyst 3524 XL Enterprise
Edition 24-port Switch.
Would this serve the purpose or I should buy a Cat5K or 2900 instead?
Thanks in advance.
Ajay

Go with Phil's suggestions. You must have the cat based software to study
with. Skip the 3500 and get a 5000 based switch

Sam,
Hi! A cat5k will work great in your CCIE/CCNP lab. You could also use a
2901 (same IOS as cat5k). For real world scenerios, you could use the XL
models of the Cisco switches, but I wouldnt recommend that for a CCIE lab.
If you need a cat5k, let me know, I have several in stock.

Can't attest to the same CLI as the 5000 but the 2948G doesn't do ATM, but
it does have Gigabit ethernet.
The lowest series switch that can (do ATM) is the 2828 with ATM 155
