Switch for CCIE/CCNP lab [7:10632]

2001-07-02 Thread Ajay Pandey
Hi, I have a 3016B and am planning to buy a Cisco Catalyst 3524 XL Enterprise Edition 24-port Switch. Would this serve the purpose or I should buy a Cat5K or 2900 instead? Thanks in advance. Ajay Message Posted at: http://www.groupstudy.com/form/read.php?f=7i=10632t=10632

Go with Phil's suggestions. You must have the cat based software to study with. Skip the 3500 and get a 5000 based switch Message Posted at: http://www.groupstudy.com/form/read.php?f=7i=10654t=10632 -- FAQ, list archives, and subscription info:

Sam, Hi! A cat5k will work great in your CCIE/CCNP lab. You could also use a 2901 (same IOS as cat5k). For real world scenerios, you could use the XL models of the Cisco switches, but I wouldnt recommend that for a CCIE lab. If you need a cat5k, let me know, I have several in stock. -B

Guys and gals: Finally building a lab of sorts and I was wondering what switch I would need for the CCNP. Cat 5k or ? Multiple switches to set vlans connected via routers? I would like to be able to use it for the CCNP as well as practicing real world sceararios. What would you suggest?
