I have inserted the PA-FE in the chassis after the router has booted, here
is an output of a show diag :
Slot 1:
Fast-ethernet (TX-ISL) Port adapter, 1 port
Port adapter is analyzed
Port adapter insertion time 00:00:04 ago
EEPROM contents at hardware dis
The PA-FE is Wellington recognized if I recall correctly...
I'll try it again and see just to be sure.

As I sais in my first post, I had to upgrade the bootloader because it
was too old but the slot was perfectly working then. This is why it's
bugging me so much...
I'll check the backplane for any Bent pins but still...

You've answered your own question- you have a bad slot 1. Check to see
if there are any bent pins in it/make sure the PAs actually seat
properly in it. ITMT, avoid using slot 1 to prevent further reloads.

By default, the router boots with all its PA-FEs in shut down state.
I have tried to reboot several time (in shut down state), always the same.
