Rick, Yanmar has recommended straight weight oils for a long time. You can still buy 30 weight diesel oil, but it is getting hard to find. I use Rotella 15W-30 in my Yanmar and have been very happy with it. I remember a long time ago some issue about running non-detergent oil in some engines
