Mine came off easily. Cost a few hundred dollars and I didn't get to watch.

Graham,
Great suggestion. With the scupper hose removed I can probably get my
shoulders through to work in there. I was struggling with only getting
one arm in to try and maneuver the pieces to fit them up. I'll try
removing the hose. Did you have to heat it to get it to come off?

Lloyd enjoy your cruising. From what I've seen so far of LF39 I love it. Look
forward to talking to you.

Hi Neil
Any time I have to climb back there I remove the hose for the port cockpit
drain (close the seacock first!!). Makes it easier to slide back there. Still
no fun 'tho.

My memory isn't quite what I remember in recent years. The instant I read your

We had a nice weekend up at the boat. Went up Friday to bend the main

but found that the battens are a different length between the two mains
and rather than cut the only set we have to fit the spare, we brought up

Doug,
On mine, just remove the 4 base screws to the floor. Then it appears that you
will need to remove the glass rack and everything forward of the mast.
You should then be able to then slide the table aft.
It has been about 7 years since I did all this so am thinking that is what I
did. I

Doug,
Am presently in The Bahamas returning to the states early July.
Happy to call you then. The 39 is wonderful and happy you have one.
Have so enjoyed mine.

Hi Lloyd, Do you have to remove the table top and leaves? That's what it's
looking like.

I removed the entire table but could have left it. On mine the only
fastener below the table is the single 1/2" bolt that passes through the
mast to tie it to the step. Removal of the table saved time later one
since it facilitated removing the floor boards and mast step.

I am getting ready to pull my mast in July and am wondering how much of the
table I need to dissamble. There is a bottle storage area fwd of the mast with
slide out pieces fwd and aft of the cover. Any thoughts on this?

Hello Doug,
If it is like mine, would suggest you removing the whole table. It really is
not all that hard.

Rick &/or anyone else,
Is there a recommended “service interval” for checking / cleaning the exhaust
elbow on a fresh water cooled 3GM30F? Mine was last checked 3-4 years ago and
have probably had 100+ hours operation during that period. It is a real PITA
to access / remove / reinstall
Bill;
A “raw” water cooled engine passes water from outside the boat ( in your case
lake water) through the engine for cooling. A “fresh” water cooled engine has
antifreeze in the engine and a heat exchanger, and the lake water only passes
through the heat exchanger to cool the antifreeze
kept me glued to my screen for 30 minutes when I should have been reading

You can try polishing with 3M Finesse-It and then wax with Awl Care. I wouldn't
try anything rougher than that.
