That 35 MK I has potential, but dealing with that 4-60 diesel in bad shape will
be a challenge. I don’t know how many parts you can still get.
Might be easier to stick an A4 in there and more power too.

The 29 (not a 30) looks pretty clean, but one would have to look at it
carefully. Only part of the lifelines, etc. But $1500? That is a steal
particularly with about 3000 pounds of lead sitting there.

I coated the male and female sides of my RAM mike connection with TefGel at
installation. No issues for years.
If it were me, I'd spray the connections liberally with Boeshield T-9
(which every boater should have on their boat 24/7), make the connection
several times, then coat with TefGel

Give Holland Marine a call, they bought all the spare parts when the CS factory
shut down and built their CS 36 from some of the parts.
They may be able to help you source a new spar section and you can have all
your existing fittings swapped over from your old mast.

Quick related question. The existing line appears to be 7/16 leading to 1/8
wire somewhere in the boom. Did you change out the sheive, and/or will 7/16
line fit? It seems like it might as my reef lines are 7/16.

Looking for documentation of the pendant dimensions so that I have a
replacement fabricated. No issues yet, but I understand they are easier to
replace *before* they fail. I have the manuals but there are no drawings
or data tables with mention of the details on the centerboard model.

Mine is all Sta Set on our 34+ it's directly connected to the sail via a
shackle and a simple bowline knot. It works perfectly. The boat is much
the same as the 37+ as it was Rob Ball's 37+ version 2.0 / a few feet
shorter.

Do you guys know if the alternator charges all the batteries all the time?
I was under the impression that the selector switch effectively directed
all the current from the battery banks including charging from the
alternator and I usually run on "both" to make sure all the batteries get
exercised
I replaced the sheaves with ones made by zepherwerks. They were made for
1/2 but I only run 3/8th. I'd go smaller but the hand and the winches
complain. I no longer have any wire rope on board.

The alternator should only charge the battery that is selected. That being
said, I recommend installing an ACR so that when one battery is seeing 12.9
volts, the batteries are combined and then they all charge.
Good for solar charging too.

since I bought the boat I was to afraid to try it without instructions. I would
hate to Go kaboom. Does anyone have instructions or a video of how to use it?

I do not like using the "Both" option for selector switches. If one
battery dies, then it will drag the other battery down and you'll be stuck.
For many years, I had two identical batteries on Touche'. My simple system
was to use Battery 1 on odd numbered days and Battery 2 on even numbered
days
The dent seems awfully small to me and sounds cosmetic.
I doubt a dent with a depth of 3mm counts for much. That's about an 1/8". The
mast wall is probably that thick. And the size of 5cm (2") by 3cm (1 3/16")

If you spend a lot of time at anchor, you may need a large house bank and a
dedicated (smaller) starter battery. Then an Echo Charger or ACR between the
House and Start and all charging going to House.
But what Dennis describes is an easy and straight forward system.
I have a 1995 36XL with a centerboard so YMMV. My 1st pennant (wire) failed
after about 15 years and destroyed the board when it let go. Since then, I
replace it about every 5 years and I have stayed with wire on the yard's
recommendation although I have considered using high tech line.

is 2 or 3 to 1. Adjustment never requires winches.
Getting the purchase straightened out and the length correct when the line
needs replaced is, however, a PITA!
