This may be a repeat – a cockpit visible fuel pressure gauge will give you some
warning and allow you to find 101 different problems that would be about
impossible to solve otherwise, both for A4s and diesels.

you know I do and my seal does leak some.
Where does the vent from the seal lead to? I assume you don't need the
cooling port that goes to your heat exchanger since you're motoring under
10 kts.

mentioned, you can get parts for Beta’s anywhere they sell Kubota Tracto
The Beta philosophy is that you DON’T need their dealers for parts. They are
selling razors, not the blades like Yanmar or Volvo.

I have a little envy of diesel boats as I have a 36 with atomic four and a
reversing gear that has been a challenge for two years. I've found the
issue after working with a local mechanic, but it looks like it will
require the engine to be pulled to fully correct. At least I have learned
to dock

I've had an Atomic 4 for 20 years and a Yanmar 3JH2E in a different boat for 4.
The Atomic 4 is definitely quieter, and as long as you take care of it (which
is easy since you are on fresh water), I'd keep the A-4. That's presuming
you've gone to the electronic ignition and done basic maintena

I went looking around a marine salvage yard today and came across a 1974 C&C 35
(CCY353221174) which is about to be parted. The vessel did not look damaged so
I asked about it. The owner of the yard (Southern Cross Salvage) said that it
is being scrapped because there is no vessel title.
Was it Touché? :)
I saw it last week but thought it was a 34.
If anybody wants me to look at it for parts, let me know. I deal with Mike at
Southern Cross often. Touché is docked about 2 blocks away. I drive past it on
my way to my slip.
