It's not uncommon for the thermistor to fail. That can affect the temperature reading, but not the speed. Definitely pull the sensor. It may be fouled, or a magnet in one of the vanes might have come loose. I don't recommend painting the paddle wheel. Since the boat has been on the hard for some ti

Jeff, mine is temperamental and not always accurate. Usually it’s dirt or growth on the paddle wheel. I would check the electrical connection and don’t be afraid to remove the wheel, it will have a check valve on it so you shouldn’t get too much water but you will get some. There should be a plu

Good point.  I do not believe there is any requirement to do the turn on the course side, only that you have to keep clear of everyone else...you would still need to "finish" by sailing to course side and back again.  Time would indeed still be running while you have not finished. Bit of a night
