FWIW..
I ordered my bottom paint @ 9:30am today, paint was 15% off, my Defender 1
discount was added, and over $99 free shipping.
I was notified @ 11:30 from UPS it had shipped.
The Website/checkout experience was nice, bummed that my past order history
was missing.

Tom,
I struggled to find replacements for mine when I did the project years ago.
After buying what I thought were identical replacements, that were not, I
ended up just using mushroom style and faired it back to the hull. Some sit
a little proud, others you can barely tell. Just another idea.
David,
You didn't mention the engine model, but I assume all are wired similarly.
I have a Westerbeke 38B and the main 12V lead to the starter is via a
per-heat solenoid. I had this fail and the 12V was not passing on to the
starter. I press the pre-heat button, then the start button.
The actual
Well…
I’ll add my experience. First, I do use butyl as much as possible, but found
chainplates a difficult application. The main problem we’re the cover plates
are welded to the chainplate. This makes it difficult to get a significant
amount of butyl in place still allowing the mounting bolts
Josh,
I have been using the Pettit product for the last three years on my
flex-o-fold. The results have been great. I may have 2-3 barnacles on the hub
when I haul out. I was diving to scrape several times before. Highly recommend
the product.

Hi there-
I am looking to upgrade my fuel tank for added capacity. When I purchased
the boat 20 years ago, I discovered a leaking aluminum tank weeks before
launch. I located a 16.5 gal.Tempo tank that would easily fit. Now looking
for a new tank, I have two questions:
1-Tempo seems to be gone,
Andy,
Thanks for the nice compliment!!
For the record, I’ve owned her since 2001, have cruised south every other year
since 2003. Cuttyhunk is a favorite destination, though that night got a bit
ugly. Even with 100’ of chain out, I still stood watch from 2:30am till
morning. Unfortunate for
Adrian,
I read a trick many years ago, but have not tried it myself. Cut a strip
from a 2-liter bottle and sleeve the stanchion base. I would do it to not
interfere with the set screw.

Danny,
Also beware of the tides. I have a +10' tide to consider when I am
anchoring in 15' MLW. I usually have less rode than I would like because
of space, inside Hadley Harbor comes to mind. I carry 100' chain spliced to
150' rope.

Hi there-
I am planning to paint the deck and have few questions for those that have gone
before me. I plan to use Perfection with Kiwigrip. I did a sample locker lid
with Snow White Perfection and White KiwiGrip. The Perfection is a bit too
white/reflective. I’d rather use a different shade
Ok.
I've been cruising for a 1.5 weeks and the autopilot has performed better than
ever before. Until today. It rained heavily last night, and the head-end is
mounted next to the helm. I've only ever engaged it using the fluxgate compass.
Today, as soon as I pressed Auto, the motor turned the
I have seen this too, but with a port midships discharge, I see it when on
a prolonged starboard tack. The first time on a night race and an empty
water bottle made a splash being dropped down the main hatch. I do have a
vented loop. I have to clean the rubber piece of the anti-siphon after it
