I was exactly in your spot 4-5 years ago when my family 4 kids moved from an
oday 25 and a j24 to a C 40 Hull 190
I currently keep my 40 aft cabin version off the eastern prom and have done
all the work on it myself through the help and advice from those on this list
Best up grade
mark this one as gone.

Catalina oday all had open cockpit drains out stern)
When sailing do people regularly close cockpit drains I am on the side mine
are always open but I did service mine which required them to be taken
apart(frozen

Hello all
Before I put in an order for a new sail or look at the lofts for a used sail
Wanted to see if anyone had a good used. Main sail they were willing to part

January for 2-3 hours. Scrapped whole hull 30 years of paint C 40
Dust deputy. Pro Scrapper and wet dry vac. Then sanded with random orbital 5

Last year motored all 34 hours from Newport to Maine
No power loss. No overheat stayed at 180 no white froth in the oil at oil

Thanks Dave for the clarification.
When you did yours do you remember if your lower sleeve was also about 4 inches
And if I can’t get to it do you think it would be okay to leave for my short
season and do it this winter the play is the same as when I left Newport last
year
My greatest fear
Thanks Ron
That does help. I watched a YouTube where they chiseled out a channel then
pried it out and I read the blogs from Wally and Stella blue and Johanna rose
which were helpful in removing Edson disk but saw nothing on the sleeve.

Hello all
I have a c 40 1983 w roller furler harken and I am wondering if anyone
brings their mast home on the pulpits for storage or is that not recommended
I have so much work to do on the boat for the winter I would prefer having it
at the house.
Thanks

My westerbeke 33 owner Manuel says 10w30 but previous owner had 15w40. Should
I go back to 10w30?

Hi Damian
I have the w33 and this just happens to me on a sail to jewel island after
delivery of 35 hours no issues. But let my fuel drop to 1/3 and it clogged
with. A 2 micron.
I just filled the racor w fuel and it self primed no issues getting back to
mooring but I am pulling he tank and
might want two guys to do it, so I would compromise
