Hello, Birders.
Yesterday, Wednesday, December 29th, Hannah and Andrew and I scouted City Park,
Denver County, for Denver-Urban Christmas Bird Count, to be held Saturday,
January 1st. We found:
1 Merlin
1 Sharp-shinned Hawk
2 Cooper's Hawks
7 Common Grackles
1,000+ Cackling Geese
1 Lesser Scau
I went out this morning and took many pictures of the Rosy finches
from my vehicle at the Allison Place location, I did not see any at
the Joshua St location. One of the neighbors came by and asked me what
I was taking pictures of because his house was directly in the
background behind the feeder
Over the weekend I came across two different groups of Gunnison Sage
Grouse on the slopes of Flattop Mountain just north of Gunnison. I saw
four above Almont and two others on the western side above Ohio Creek
Rd. These are not rare birds in Gunnison, but I have not seen them
reported from these l
Yard birds this afternoon; snow; wind; cold; bitter; miserable
Mt Chickadees
Black- capped Chickadees
White-breasted Nuthatches
Juncos
squirrels
all after the peanut butter
one big bird as yet to be id'd because it keeps hiding

Hi all,
First of all, a HUGE thank you to the extremely excellent 21 birders who helped
with today's 43rd Pueblo Christmas Bird Count. The circle was covered so well,
that I don't really think we had any big misses. People came from near and
far, and I hope everyone was able to get back home
Birders,
Today, just as the snow and wind hit, I got out to Chatfield to see what I
could.
I did find the Red-necked Grebe hanging with a Western on the close side of
the ice. I saw 1 of the Glaucous and 2 RB Mergansers.
Nothing else of note.

I have no experience with Rosy finch IDs and would appreciate any
comments on the bird on the left side of the picture. I saw it at the
location Mel Goff reccomended just east of Divide. The picture is not
great because I was about 25 - 30 yards from the birds.
