I did a big loop through Boulder County today, heading into the mountains first
and then back through the western edge of the plains. Noteworthy birds

Just finishing a glorious day of birding in Pueblo and Fremont Counties with
Nick Moore. We started at Pueblo City Park where we were delighted to have the
company of Brandon Percival. We then went with Brandon to Pueblo Res, and from
there on our own to Fremont. Birds were

The FCAS field trip today (4 of us) observed 57 species, including the
following highlights (mostly viewable thru scopes) in Larimer County, unless
denoted Weld County:
Hamilton Res:
Locked gate at 7:15 am.
Ferruginous Hawk nearby
North Poudre Res. #3, and adjacent cornfields:
“White-cheeked”
Steve Miller and I did some birding in Jefferson and Boulder Counties. We
could not locate the Rusty Blackbird at 75th and Boulder Creek. We did find
the following:

Virginia Rails--many
Marsh Wren

American Dipper
I was at Parkfield Lake today in eastern Denver looking for a Ross's Goose.
I came across this goose during my search. I am very inexperienced with
this goose, and especially its hybrids. Any ideas as to what this goose
is? It kept its head tucked for the whole time I was there except for
In my post about the Little Gull at Windsor Lake I mistakenly said at the close
of daylight the bird headed to the northwest. It headed NORTHEAST in the
direction of the Weld County Landfill or Lake Erie. Sorry for the error.
