The Gray Flycatcher reported yesterday at the north end of Center Green Drive
is still present this morning as of 7:20am. Both Peter Gent and I saw the bird
for a little bit this morning on the north end of the parking lot near the
shipping containers.

Hello, Birders.
Earlier today, Friday, May 10th, Chuck Hundertmark and I saw, and Chuck
photographed, a Cassin's Vireo along Boulder Creek, Boulder County, upstream a
ways from the 75th Street Bridge (Eastern Phoebe and American Dippers still
present). What can I say?--finally, in this, my
Northern Waterthrush, Black-and-white Warbler, Green-tailed Towhee and several
other migrants present.

We're still waiting for a big spring fall-out at Chico Basin Ranch (RMBO
banding station). We were CLOSE on Wednesday before being rained out by strong,
steady rains at 9am - we'd had 47 birds in the first two hours before that.
(all El Paso County side of the ranch)

Hey all,
We opened nets for a short time this morning in preparation for tomorrow's
International Migratory Bird Day celebration at the Museum of Discovery in
Fort Collins. We ended the morning with a really nice bird... a Northern
Waterthrush! Check out the photo below. We were only open for
Descending from Blue Mesa Reservoir to Montrose we encountered a greening
landscape suggesting that spring is on its way. Migrants are filtering in
and we expect a swarm this weekend. Still, we retreated from a snowshoe
hike at Little Molas Lake today in a snowstorm to avoid the possibility

Joe might do Mother's Day in Phillips County, but I try to head SE on this
weekend. Here are some highlights from today-Limon to La Junta the long way.
The day featured wave after wave of sparrows-mainly Chipping and Lark, but also
one or two to many of Grasshopper, Vesper, Brewer's,
Greetings All
Today David Dowell and I birded NE Bent County, spending part of the day with
Duane Nelson, who kindly lent me his spare pair of binoculars as mine are
happily partying in Longmont without me.
In all we had 143 species
Highlights included:
Blackburnian Warbler at Karney SWA
