what birds might be moving through North Park. We went by way of Wyoming,
and stopped at Hutton Lake NWR south of Laramie where we were excited to

It was nice to have a somewhat cooler morning! Banding continued at a good
pace; 60 new birds and a greater number of species mixed in with the Yellow
and Wilson's Warblers:
Downy Woodpecker 1
Western Wood-pewee 1
Willow Flycatcher 1
Cordilleran Flycatcher 2
House Wren 3
Swainson's Thrush 1
Today I was accompanied by Lynne Miller and Dale Pate on a foray up to
Clear Creek County. The Bard Creek Road area near the ponds, south of
Empire, had a *Northern Waterthrush* (no other eBird records for the
county; we were able to obtain a recording of the call), an *Eastern
Kingbird* (eBird
Steve Kingswood and I just visited Prewitt and several other sites. The
water is high at the Prewitt Inlet but we saw Baird's, Least, Semipalmated,
Wilson's Phalarope, and one Stilt SP. Over 300 Franklin's Gulls resting on
a sandbar in cool breezy weather. Close views.

Cobirders,
Before this thread is closed, there is a bit of a misconception in the
previous responses. According to the CSU Colorado Water Knowledge website,
consumptive water use in Colorado is 400,000 acre-feet for Municipal &

The Denver Field Ornithologists field trip scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 1 to
the First Creek trail @ Rocky Mountain Arsenal NWR and First Creek @ DEN

In the 70s, there was a push to dam up Waterton Canyon. This led to the
