I drove by the FC Turkey Vulture roost area this evening (8 April 2014)
about 6:45, saw 15-20 circling and landing in the trees on Mountain. A
block south on Washington, though...there had to be a hundred.

Hi, Bill.
This morning (9 am, too late?), I went down to the area in Broomfield where
you saw the Chukar and was unable to find it. I looked around the
industrial park and the nearby ballfields, but no luck.
Doesn't mean it's not there, just that I didn't see it.

Bohemian Waxwings originally found by Josh Bruening on 3/18.
Largest group was at Laurel and Whitcomb, trees on north side

west at Laurel and Loomis.

I noticed that people have mentioned Yellow-Headed Blackbirds and
American Avocets in the past few days. I've been seeing a pair of
avocets in Broomfield County in the pond behind the King Soopers at
136th and Zuni (also saw a half-dozen White Pelicans the other day).
Yesterday, over at Tom Frost
Reservoir (Midway and Lowell), I saw a
handful of Yellow-Headed Blackbirds amid the hundreds of Red-Winged
Blackbirds in the reeds on the east side of the reservoir. These are
the FOS YHBs for me.

I happened to be in Fort Collins, so I swung by there, and, after
getting a closer look, I'm sorry to report that these are very good
decoys. I'm guessing the office park put them there to keep the Canada
Geese away. Also in the pond: two Canada Geese.
