Went out looking for loons from about noon - 2:30. Nothing on the center of
the lake or eastern half around 12:30. Did see some birds on the SW side,
so drove over and then walked west. No loons, but Pintails, a couple Horned
Grebes, 31 Redhead, and some Common Mergs. Fun day birding!

took off between 6:45am-8am.
NOTE - the main gate is closed since the park is officially closed, but the
trails are open to visitors. We parked in the free lot off 100th just east
of the main entrance - opens at sunrise.
