CO Birders,
On September 12, while walking east of Olde Town Arvada, Jefferson County we
found a White-winged Dove dead on the ground. We estimate that it died <48
hours. This is not reportable to eBird but wanted to share the sighting. We did
take a photo if one would need documentation.
Just got an email from a friend with photos of a White-winged Dove in
Westcreek. It's been there for about a week and she lives SW of Westcreek
in Teller County, about one mile S of the Douglas County border, elevation
about 7500 feet.
Been seeing some Cedar Waxwings around here too, typically

second I've had in my yard (both winter) and the 4th I've had at Ken Caryl
in 9 years. Cassin's Finches continue daily at my home, and I hear Evening
Grosbeaks pas over now and again.

our yard.

Hello CObirders!
I was driving to the pool this evening and found a White-winged Dove on the
sidewalk next to the road. It flew into the field (private owned land) just
south of the Timnath Community Center. I hurried back, but it flushed too
far, and I couldn't relocate the bird for a photo.
I happened to see a White-winged Dove on June 8 while driving along I-25 in
Pueblo, N of Hwy.96. It flew just overhead across highway so was able to
make the 55 mph ID.
Also got some good historical reports recently from a private lake near
Divide, including Great and Snowy Egrets and
Great yard bird! Had my first hummer today.

This bird was observed under the hopper feeder almost every day since 5/21,
including today when it was sitting in the grass in the middle of the backyard.
It often is feeding with a Mourning Dove or Eurasian Collared-dove. There
were two of them present on one day.

Right now there are 2 Mourning Doves, 10 Eurasian Collared Doves, and 12

About 6PM today, a single White-winged Dove appeared at our feeder area in
Littleton.
Apparently reluctant to sit in the snow, it perched on one of the feeder poles
for a half hour or more before it left, snow-covered and still unfed.

I found the WWDO in a residential area, on White Rock Circle 2 houses down
from Spine Rd. There were a few Eurasian Collared-Doves close by as well.

3 1/2 miles north of Boulder, off US 36, at south end of 34th Court to the

Saturday the 12th I had a brief visit from a White-winged Dove in Trinidad, Las
Animas Co., at 1200 Santa Fe Trail early in the morning. Then it has appeared
today, May 14, several times. It may at least be in the Santa Fe

In the spirit of documenting the species' expansion, I'll mention that a
White-winged Dove continues to sing almost every morning from the tops of
buildings in my housing complex. I have heard it on about 10 of 16 days in
August so far. A few Eurasian Collared-Doves are also still singing.
Just had a White-winged dove at my feeder here in Parker (hess rd and nate
rd ) first time in a couple of months that I seen the dove around the area.

I observed a white-winged dove today flying from Village at Skyline on Lower
Gold Camp Rd. in Colorado Springs across the road into Bear Creek Park at about
5pm. It flew into the area where the dog park is located.

New yard bird this afternoon - a White-Winged Dove! So that makes it a
3-dove day!! Just when I thought migrant traffic was about over for my
yard! I am still enjoying regular visits from 3 - 5 Bullock's Orioles, a
pair of Eurasian Collared Doves (had lots of these at my house when
Gunbarrel's resident White-winged Dove (or one of them?) is singing
right outside my window right now. This is the first time I've heard
him here in a couple of months. It is likely the same bird that
Walter Szeliga reported a few days ago from a half-mile east of here,
but who knows?
