Found the problem! It turns out the newly installed Skype Extension for Firefox Add-on was preventing the PDF's from loading. Once I disabled the Skype extension, the PDF's loaded normally. It's probably time to uninstall Skype. By the way, should this be reported to Skype or Mozilla and how is

I had an issue over the weekend where my XP PC started being very wonky. So, I ran chkdsk and defrag, which didn't help. I then did a system restore in safe mode, previous to the time where I installed SP3 and AVG 8.0, 5 days previous. Ran chkdsk and defraged (jkdrfrag--an excellent free utility)
