I believe this is a pretty biased statement. I've bought some really
great looking American junk. And I've bought some very long lasting
Chinese products. I think it's company based and not nationality based
when it comes to the quality of a product. Maydoff(sp) comes to mind.
Regardless

I routinely receive client cds that won't play in one drive. I have
two on my machine, but before I give up on a cd I try all the other
drives I can find in the house first. Clean it off too; sometimes just
a good belly rub will get one to read.
You'll probably want to offload all the data as

The day Snow Leopard came out, I looked at the compatibility

Theoretically the CD/DVD markers have a chemical composition which is
more safe in the long term for putting on plastic.

Actually, it's Wrong to hijack other people's topics. You should have
started a thread of your own with this question.
Anyway, a quick correction. The tops of CD's aren't plastic, it's the
actual foil on top. DVDs and BluRays have the foil snadwiched between
plastic.

Not always. Magnepan for example buys raw materials in the

Yes, it is very confusing. Single-stream means it is not MIMO. N is
supposed to require MIMO, but vendors got exceptions written into the
standard. I have read that single-stream
