The general consensus from Board members expressing an opinion (and it was not
a call for a binding vote, so it is not officially a Board decision, but is
rather the opinion of a couple of Board members) was that the name is less than
ideal, but no action by the Board should be taken to stop
Do you think it would be appropriate to call a formal vote in the
community, structured as a choice between ACF and ManifoldCF? I think
we need to clarify the position of the community relative to your
specific proposal.

Grant's feedback from the board is that ACF would likely not be
blocked, but is indeed too broad.
Based on the popularity of Apache Manifold the last time 'round, but
the concern that Manifold is indeed a registered trademark, Grant
proposes that we consider changing the name from Apache
We could put CF on the end of each of the original short names and re-vote
them... but don't do that unless somebody seconds that approach.
