What system is used by mandrake to automount devices such as cd-rom etc...
I cant find any specific modules or such that seems appropriate...can someone

I've installed (net install) Staroffice 5.2 on a MDK 7.2.
The install /net (as root) worked fine but I cannot do a user-install in
my private drive (as myself).What i don't understand is the fact that
the README refereces the MAK 6.0 as using the glic 2.0 while the
application seems to "struggle

I installed MDK 7.2 fine on my machiine but it boots up in KDE while I

Same here. There's loads of crap spewing out at the root console about DCOP
not being able to connect to the X server and permission denied. I am writing
this from Gnome, which also has severe problems, but at least it will
actually start !

Ok reinstalled again today. It now boots without and error.
But now I cannot get Gnome to start from the startx command line.
I have tried putting both GNOME and DESKTOP=GNOME in
/etc/sysconfig/desktop but it still doesn't start.
With GNOME in desktop KDE starts.
With DESKTOP=GNOME ice
Here is a temporary fix to the problem. This may also help the programer to
debug this problem.
ctrl-alt f1 into a console.
login as root
issue a killall kdeinit
alt f7 back into x it should work then
at least it does for me

Has anyone tried to use the squidguard blacklists with Squid in the cooker
firewall? I am running rc1 of cookfire, and it is not behaving as the

BuildRoot directory seems to be no more automatically created by %install
macro. I had to do it manually to avoid an error :

I had gone back to the original kde from the 8
cdrom... but found myself trying out 2.1.2 upgrade .
The fonts were for the most part fine with the 8
version but are back to nasty after the upgrade.
Someone mentioned that it had to do with how it is
compiled I forgot exactly what it was though.
