I think the driver is called "nvidia" now (at least it is for the
4191 driver), not "NVdriver". Try changing that in XF86Config-4 , and I
think it will work.

This seems to be a kernel bug. If you revert to kernel 2.4.19 it works fine.
Other things to try: in the KDE Sound Server config dialog, try putting the
buffer size at minimum in the Audio Input/Output tab, or selecting 8-bit for
