My opinion would be we can have 2.6 kernel for workstation installs and
2.4 for server installs. I have been running 2.6 on my laptop and every
thing is working so far, save for the PCMCIA. I have not done any
investigation into that yet. I would like to have an RC or beta type

Currently, I only know of 3 problematic models :

yes, but they released it only for LG branded devices,
many of these CD drives are OEM branded, and not supported.

firmware and procedure how to fix the dead drives.
It would be nice if Mandrake would release updated iso-s for
club members or a howto on how to do it ourselves.
btw does this mean that the updated kernel is not necessary
MP It's because the mandrake kernel uses patches from patch-o-matic. In 9.1 this
