I filed 3552 with a suggested fix anyway.
The download edition should not fail at this point, new users won't
evaluate any further when they find they have no gui.

reinstall them.
I think the correct driver should have been svga in the download
edition and nvidia in the commercial package.

I have seen this happening with ncpfs mounted volumes as well - but on
SuSE 8. This is probably not an issue with Mandrake but the
Kernel/driver itself?

I have to completely different machines that both have combinations of Mdk
8.2 Beta 2 and OS/2 running.
On both machines mounting HPFS-Volumes fails with an access-violation.
I tried to mount the drives with mount -t hpfs /dev/hda? /mnt/os2data
I there anyone to confirm this?
