Is there a list of rsync cooker mirrors along with the module names ?
I've tried several of the regular mirrors at random, but those that
respond to an rsync connect attempt seem to have inconsistent module
structures.
So far the ones I got to work are sunsite.uio.no and ftp.sunet.se, but

I've been using ftp.uninett.no to keep my local mirror up-to-date,

It is true. The real dir and the one I ever use for my mirror is
Mandrake-devel/cooker/i586/Mandrak
actually there is a mistake in the command the mandrake.redbox.cz has

The rsync sample script located at:
http://www.linux-mandrake.com/en/rsync.txt
has an error in it.
It has a flag like so: --exclude '/.*'
I presume that is to avoid downloading the temporary files rsync makes
while syncing.
However this flag doesn't work with the way that script is setup. It
I'm rsync'ing from
distro.ibiblio.org::distros/mandrake-ftp/Mandrake-devel/cooker/i586
and rsync is consistently reporting like this...
Mandrake/RPMS/HTML-Embperl-1.3.23_1.3.4-4mdk.i586.rpm
Warning: unexpected read size of 0 in map_ptr
... then it records progress up to circa 150%
Many are complaining about the frequent changes for sunsite.uio.no and
ftp.sunet.se - especially when there is a minor timestamp or file size
shift which requires a large download of the whole RPMS directory.
So who's the Rsync expert here - I've tried various switches with no
effect "--size-only
That should keep my T1 busy for a while. For whatever reason rsync is
downloading the entire cooker again :( Which I have cronned for 2 times a day.
Hope contribs doesn't do this too.

I'm trying to install Cooker on my PC and I have rsync'ed the entire
cooker archive (except RPMS2) to my laptop. I made the boot disk from
network.img in the /images directory (looks to be last updated on Feb

When I boot the floppy, first problem is that my M$ Optical USB mouse

After finally settling down with my new epox 8kha+ + amd athlon 1400 at
home, retiring my old abit bp6 rig, I thought I make my local cooker
repository fresh..., but no...
uninett only allows 100 users now... any hints where to turn (rsync)?
Private as well as public hints are welcome.

That's with this exclude file:
- 1-8.0-*
- 2-8.0-*

Depends on whether you get the contribs and/or the SRC files - with
contribs and SRC it'll be about 2.5 Gig and without roughly 1.7 Gig.

Yes, by adding --delete to your rsync command. It will remove the older

I have tried to rsync cooker from the sunet archive,
it took a whole night but thats ok hehe.

only adding the new filename. Is there any way to
get around this without having to manually go and remove
the old files?
