Stew & co,
Considering the things we need to be aware of with regards to PPC
specific settings (e.g., mouse, mouse-emulation buttons, airport
settings etc), do you think that a Webmin module would be worth
considering for these sorts of things?? I could possibly look into

After disabling and rebooting, still no success. Still get "No CD in
/dev/cdrom" from XMMS.

Hey,
I know this problem. Supermount is active but will mount any audio CD
and no HFS formatted CDs. But this is hard-coded error in supermount.c
where hfs in not in the "try" list. What about a dynamic solution via
/etc/fstab.supermount or something like this.
But back to the audio CD problem.

I've collected several of the most important bugs/problems with 8.2 PPC to
create the beginnings of an errata page. Many of the solutions were taken

Stew,
I 'm sorry but there is a real problem with the bootstrap of the 8.2 CD. I
have finished the installation, finally all seems fine, but at restarting,
the screen was with the ? and the Mac icon folder... and that's all.
Maybe I have to do something more, but what?
Best,
Jo.

WOW!
I did a fresh install, first real fresh install since 8.2b2 tonight.
The graphics in the installer look marvelous. And here I thought the
old one looked nice.
It also seems to fix the annoying slowness I was experiencing with KDE
apps starting.
Problems are posted under separate emails.

Well I've finally got my powerbook up and running with 8.2.. great job
Stew, thanks!
I had a couple of issues with the install that got me into a fine old
mess i.e. the problem with configuring ethernet, airport and modem,
and choosing the option to start an internet connection on boot... it
everybuddy requires libjabber1 and libxode1. Neither are on the CDs but
everybuddy is. Which is kinda pointless. So for the next version
either both of these need to be on there or everybuddy should be left
out (though I vote for the former).
