I suppose you could do all that, but myself I think I'd just modify the
/etc/X11R6/bin/Xpmac script:
...
looks far better to me, i'll have a look asap on that...
I'm still a little baffled why you 2? are having such trouble with r128.
what do you call r128 ? my video card chipset ???

I've used XFdrake and now I can't open X11 cause I get only a black
screen.
I can't try other configurations cause any time I test it I get the
black screen
and I've to reset via hardware (and the filesystem isn't happy ;)..
So I would like to go back and use Xpmac again, but .. how do I
like to go back and use Xpmac again, but .. how do I have to
do it ?
rpm -e or urpme XFree86-Xpmac (just in case)
urpmi XFree86-Xpmac
This should change the symlink to allow Xpmac to run.
What video card in this machine?
Thanks,
Giovanni

About my problem with the internet.. I've

for me ctrl+alt=backspace works in order to reboot cleanly now.

Funny thing here ... I (again since 8.0) have a really twisted X... I looked at some
older posts where it was said that some older iBooks had issues and that no XFree
release worked for them.. that the only option was Xpmac.. r. wrong Again I
have OSX and have had SuSE 7.1 and 7.3
Ok, my Mac evidently can't use XFree86, at least the version that comes with 8.0
Final, so it defaults to the xpmac server.
What config file does xpmac use? I've edited all the config files for xfree86 with no
success... anyone else have a clue?
Also, where can I get the *latest* version
