integrate single-sign on funcionally and want to use kerberos therefor.
Is there anyway to anable kerberos-authentication to the courier
imap-server?
I havn't found anything about it in the documentation.

I checked through the archives originally and I found a similar problem, the
solution was to look at the aliases database permissions. As far as I know
it looks ok:

I'd like to restrict the access to the courier imap/pop3 server on all
virtual users from a domain.
Each user should only be able to check his/her mails using "his/her" ip
for the mail server.
The reason for this requirement is, that I need to know how much traffic
is produced by each user

virgin SuSE 7.3 server.
But in the SMTP greeting (and as well in Received: headers and I doubt
everywhere else) I see only the server's host name, not the domain as in

I have done a major update of this HOWTO, including a change in approach.
This is a result of quite a bit of learning I've done since the initial
version of the HOWTO. IMHO, the new approach is easier to install, allows
for everything that the old version did, makes it possible to set up
aliases
I had a similar thing with LDAP. It turns out that cinfigure did find an
ldap.h file, but it was not the right on. It was left over from
somewhere so I deleted it and created links in /usr/include to my
OpenLDAP include files. The same for /usr/lib to my OpenLDAP lib files.
This cleared up my prob

everything configured correctly, but I'm not sure. Courier does not
allow me to access a mail account. Where can I find detailed logs of
what is happening or how do I turn on verbose logs?

probably have an old version of vpopmail installed. Update vpopmail and the
problem should go away.
Also note that the latest version of vpopmail, perhaps earlier ones too,

until I had all my facts straight before I reported it. In my situation I only am
allowing encrypted protocols, so pop3s and imaps. My setup is just about the same as
yours altho sqwebmail instead of Horde IMP

this working. Also how does one go about configuring Sqwebmail to work
with virtual users as well. All I'm getting is Invalid Login.
