Okay, my bad. Having looked further into it, it seems this does not have
to do with the way Courier (or debian) works, but something in my
connection or iOS, as it works from other connections. I will have to
look into it further, but it's not a courier thing then.

every Linux system have a /etc/hosts? because of the entry for loopback and
its own hostname. If you use ping or any other program it checks the
hosts file before it does a dns query.

You need to make a file called sizelimit in the configuration directory
which is /etc/courier on my box. In that file simply put in the size in
bytes that you would like. No words, just the numbers. If you set it to
