[css-d] Role of Pre-processors

2014-05-09 Thread Andrew C. Johnston
Eric: Well, I am just thinking theoretically, but the standards refrain is, everyone should meet the standards. And so css says, the code 'corners: rounded' or 'corners: spiked' is valid. But then the browsers fail to comply. They need it to be, 'mozilla-corners: rounded', and then there are 8

[css-d] Pre-processor discussion

2014-04-28 Thread Andrew C. Johnston
Nice to see some thoughtful replies. Under the circumstances, I don't want to be the one to push this issue and start a holy war. I do wonder if CSS itself could at least potentially come to make the pre-processors obsolete. Why can't there be a code for all browsers, to do something like trans

[css-d] Ready for Pre-processors?

Hello All: I have been a bit busy and haven't been keeping up, how does the list feel about discussions involving LESS, SASS and SCSS? I have a Sass project where I have to make some changes and feel a little lost. Not sure if I would have any specific question to ask here, but is the list ope

[css-d] IE 7 still doesn't play nice!~

2012-11-01 Thread Andrew C. Johnston
Hi All: I am sorry to bring a IE 7 problem to you all.  I am sick of IE 7, so I know some of you are as well. The 3 bullet points for the 3 sections each have one bullet point that prints going down, destroying the layout about as effectively as possible.  Wonderful efficiency, Microsoft! Pls

[css-d] Text positioning in FF and Chrome - They go opposite ways

2012-02-13 Thread Andrew C. Johnston
Hi All, wonder if I can tap into the wetware database with a question. I have a lot of teaser boxes that entice users to click on them, with text in the boxes. Nothing shaking or flashing or anything (yet).  Due to my design's limitations (or my own) I need to keep this box fairly short, I guess

Hi All: In working on a new template, I noticed something about borders that I find to be very limiting, and wonder if anyone thinks there will be improvement in the future. I do not play a real designer on tv or in real life, but I have come to like ridged, grooved, inset/outset borders, whic

Just a minor followup, sorry to burden the list, but perhaps it will benefit someone. Upon closer inspection the comment code surrounding the javascript must remain, otherwise it throws up a lot of errors when validating.  The rest of the comment code can / should be removed. ___
