Appreciate all the replie, they were a big help.
I created a second test page incorporating some of the ideas offered:

We're developing a site content management process which separates
the content from the presentation, what a novel idea. The designers
want to be able to indicate within a list of links which link may be
new by displaying a NEW graphic after the link text. What I'm
trying figure out is how
http://www.buyblue.org/stg/
user:buyblue
pass:letmein
There are a couple of things not functional at this time, but what I'm
looking for a check on is any major layout issues. Thanks in advance!

Well, this has us stumped.
To replicate:
a) Go to this development site with IE6: http://pyl.userfrenzy.com
b) Follow a link to another page
c) Push the 'back' button
At either point A or point C, you'll see IE inserting default
list styling bullets into the left hand navigation, but not
for another key to open
menus would change that and considerably complicate things... It's
certainly a good point though, thanks!
Does anyone else have any thoughts? Would you be irritated using it the
way it is now? And has anyone spotted my Mac problem yet?
Cheers,
John

Oh, and if anyone spots any problems in other browsers I'd be grateful
to hear about them too!

John.

Hi - have read a lot about white space, but can't seem to find a
solution - a beginner to CSS, but have picked up a huge amount of info
thanks to book, but especially thanks to this list.
Launching a new series of pages:
http://www.oneida-air.com/index_new2.htm
My question in IE6 -
it.
Perhaps the floatclear div above it has something to do with it?
Thanks!

Thanks!

I've been told that the first blog teaser Teamsters, SEIU... runs

I've figured it out. It's an open blockquote that is generated
automatically by the CMS.
Thanks.

Yeah, this only seems to happen in Safari 1.x browsers. Anyone every
hear of that specific version having problems

However, in FF, the right-col div renders approximately 20px to the
left of where it should... and on top of the right edge of the left-col.
Any ideas what's going on here?
Thanks!

Is it possible to have a liquid layout that expands both right and left and
keeps the header and content areas centered? What is the best way to
accomplish this?

You need to give a 100% height for the body so IE has something
to calculate against.

It hasn't been
the overflow:auto rule can either create a scroll for the tall
float or add height to the container. Apparently the consensus is
to enlarge the container rather than do the scrollbar thing.
