In attempting to add a 'like' button to my pages I seem to have created a
number of problems I don't understand.
The first is that the character encoding is not found, though it's there; the
others seem to require me to use a 'transitional' document, which I am.
Can anybody tell me what I'm
nk that part of the site.
I very much appreciate the time you give to helping people like me who
spend half their time out of their depth in hand-coding.
Thank you again for your assistance,

Holly,
I'll check out the quirksmode. It's certainly not a case of subtle
change as I have it set to black on white to test.

Hi,
I think the problems I've been having with my redesign are mostly
resolved but I know there is at least a problem with IE7 and Windows
XP.
Please would somebody have a look at

MSIE5.5 and MSIE7 seem to have more serious problems - and I've not
sorted out the margin problem either...
Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

I'm still unable to solve a problem with a new site I'm developing.

Paragraphs on my site have an indent of 2em for the second and
subsequent paragraphs; the first para has no indent. I use
p + p {
text-indent: 2em;
}
to effect this.
Where there is an image at the beginning of a para I use
img + p {
text-indent: 2em;
}
to keep the indented para.
