Hmm. I've got the same error. I have tried to install gstreamer0.8-oss
and uninstalled gstreamer0.8-alsa and reinstalles gnome-media, but it
hasn't helped.
Sound works, but I have to use the commandline alsamixer for
controlling the mixer

Firstly, gaim-encryption has finally been uploaded to Debian's unstable
branch. It's now instalable by all Debian users, there's no more need
for my personal repository to contain Gaim-encryption's packages.

password that is shown to the user is not the one that is actually set.
