I was able to reproduce this. First I just added the 'ldap' entries to
nsswitch.conf. The halt command did not hang. However when I installed
libnss-ldap and did no further configuration and then tried to halt,
the program did hang. I attach an strace of halt which I terminated with
ctrl-C.
